2) Wanna start that modeling career or some other venture? Great! Again, you’re able to create a fan page to post and update all of your photos, making it your new portfolio.

3) If you’re a person that loves to blog and share interesting facts, then Facebook is an excellent way to spread the news about your blog and newest posts.

4) If you’re planning an event, Facebook allows you to create your own invitations that list all the sweet details! And since all your friends are on Facebook, consider the invitations sent. How simple is that!?

5) If you just want to keep in touch with family that might live in another state, Facebook makes it easy to interact, grow, and keep up with every family member that enjoys sharing about their everyday lives.

If you’re about to experience your first company lunch meeting, here are some good examples on what NOT to do!

1.     Do not ask if the company is taking care of the tab. Chances are you will be the one taking care of the bill if you do.

2.     Do not order alcohol especially if no one else is ordering alcohol or if this is your first time meeting the big boss man.

3.     Do not ask the server to list all the ingredients that are in your top five choices or ask if the food is good…even if it wasn’t, they wouldn’t tell you.

4.     Do not order the biggest burger on the menu. Play it safe and stick to salad so you’re not getting all messy and stuffing your face while going over important improvements and ideas for the company.

5.     Do not order dessert! You do not want to be the one holding up the group just because you want to enjoy your tasty treat.

Now I know you might be a little worried for your first real company meeting at “The Catch”, but you should be well prepared on exactly what not to do. Take it from personal experience… you want to stand out and make people take notice of how big of an asset you are to the company and how brilliant you are! But you do not want to do that while stuffing your face with the biggest burger in the joint. If you’re going to a nice place like The Catch, make it simple and enjoy one of their delicious salads.

1.       Calle Tacos are open from noon to 10PM in the city of Hollywood. This restaurant is great for families to enjoy their mariachi band, tacos, flautas, burritos, quesadillas and donkeys, too! That’s right…Donkeys! Why travel to Mexico when you can experience all this in your backyard!

2.      The Pub Crawl…now this screams for a good time! Head down to the streets of Old Town Pasadena, Huntington Beach, Santa Monica or Hollywood until 2:00AM for beers ($2), tequila shots ($5) and two-for-one margaritas. Sombreros and sarongs encouraged. Tickets start at $5.

3.       Visit El Chovo with DJ Cyrano spinning, salsa on the patio, $5 margaritas until 9 p.m., and a $10 combo plate (three tacos, rice, beans, plus a margarita or beer)…the best part is there is no cover charge! 21 and up only.

4.       If you’re looking for something a little more fancy stop by the RED O to start the festivities early with “Street Food Social Hour” running 3-6 p.m. in the tequila lounge and patio. The normally expensive restaurant is keeping the prices down a bit for cocktails for only $8, wines at $7, beers at $5. Be sure to check out the menu for oysters, ceviche’s, tacos al carbon, mini tostadas, sopes, taquitos, quesadillas and tamales.

5.       Celebrate Cinco De Mayo at the Lake with Woody and the Harrelsons on Saturday, May 5^th, at 9:00PM in Riverside at the Lake Alice Saloon and Eatery. Only a $6 cover charge with lots of beer, cocktails and dancing for those of you 21 and up!

Cinco De Mayo is without a doubt an exciting holiday and we all love to experience and indulge in the great authentic Mexican culture. Remember to make a game plan before going out on the town, be safe, party it up, and take lots and lots of pictures to remember this night for a lifetime.

Although I don’t personally scrapbook often, when I do, it is something I really enjoy doing! Creating a scrapbook is a great gift idea, or simply a nice way to capture big events. Maybe you are sick, pregnant, or just bored at home…making a scrapbook is the perfect way to catch up on some good, old time memories.

Who doesn’t love dancing!? Putting on those dancing shoes and burning some calories is a good time for all. Make up your own dance routine to a nice upbeat song and perform it for everyone with some of your closest friends. Not only will all eyes be on you, but just think about how impressed people will be with your awesome moves!

What is your favorite Disney movie? Make that movie your theme! For example, Alice in Wonderland is not only a great movie, but everyone has seen it and all of your guests could easily put together amazing “Alice in Wonderland” costumes. Imagine the fun everyone would have getting creative with a party theme like that, especially knowing that you LOVE that particular movie!

Can you play an instrument!? How impressed would everyone be to listen to you rip it up on the guitar on your birthday! This would be a great way to get that boy you have been crushing on in homeroom to notice what skills you have.

A Sweet 16 is not just another birthday party for someone getting older, it’s a celebration of who they have become and getting to know what their interests are. This day should be remembered for years to come and should be marked as one of the most important days in one’s life. So at your sweet 16, take lots of pictures, cut loose, and remember to be you!

We will be raising the chairs at a Bar Mitzvah this weekend and we would like to wish Jacob a hearty Mazel Tov. What is a Bar Mitzvah? Glad you asked!  Next to weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are one of the most popular type of events we get to be a part of. We have so much fun at each one that we wanted to share with you what they are all about as well as some great tips on what to purchase for that boy becoming a man and that girl becoming a woman!

So, what is a Bar Mitzvah? In English, “bar mitzvah” literally means “son of the commandments” (and “bat” means daughter). Technically, the term refers to the child who is coming of age, but today the terms are more commonly used to refer to the coming of age ceremony  itself. These ceremonies take place at age 13 for boys and 12 for girls, and mark the point at which they are recognized by Jewish tradition as having the same rights as a full grown man or woman. At this age he or she is now morally and ethically responsible for his or her decisions and actions. In modern practice, the bar/bat mitzvah ceremony usually requires much more preparation and participation. The young boy or girl will work with a Rabbi and/or Cantor for months (or years) studying for this event. Not only is this ceremony a big milestone in the life of a Jewish boy or girl, but it marks the beginning of a lifetime of Jewish learning, study and participation in the Jewish community.

So making sure you have the right gift for such an important event is crucial! Although it’s not required, it is customary to give a gift to the young one who is celebrating their bar/bat mitzvah. "What is a Bar Mitzvah?"

1.     You’re dealing with Mother Nature when you have your wedding on a beach, so be prepared for rain or shine (even though having rain on your wedding is considered good luck, no one hopes for it).

2.     Have a backup plan! Say the weather does take a major turn for the worse, have a hotel nearby already in mind like the Ritz Carlton. One’s mind would be much more at ease knowing there is another alternative.

3.     Make sure to attain a permit if you need one. If you are planning for just a small group of family and friends with no intention for loud music or speakers, then typically a permit will not be necessary.

4.     Wedding insurance! Often times things don’t go as planned, so make sure you have insurance that covers the clothes, cake, flowers, rings and the food. It is very inexpensive but can save you BIG money.

5.     Check with your park board or special events manager to confirm that there are no other events planned for that day. Having your wedding the same day as a bunch on roudy kids would not be fun.

Weddings are certainly a lot of fun and a big milestone in someone’s life.Making that day as monumental as possible is crucial. So if you’re thinking about having your wedding on a beach I hope some of these tips give you a little peace of mind.

Here is a list of 7 ways to ask that special someone to Prom…

1.     Use sidewalk chalk! Write “Prom?” with your name and hers on her drive way before she leaves for school in the morning. How could she not think about you for the rest of the day!  Very simple yet sweet.  (Make sure to make it BIG!)

2.     Simply write on your T-Shirt! And have her check yes or no…. who could say no?!

3.     What girl doesn’t like sweets! Bake a cake! 

4.     Make signs. You can either do this leading to one of her classes or set them up at her house nice and big. Each one saying one word leading to that big question.

5.      Ask in a Photo Collage! Photograph yourself with different words in   different places or random pictures of you and her. The more thought you put into it the better it will be.

6.     Here is a classic idea that never fails. Order a pizza spelling prom with a bunch of pepperonis or her favorite toppings.

7.     Ask her if she can meet you in the Gym. Play some music and have all of her friends be there to take pictures. Have a big banner put up with her name on it, hand her some flowers and simply ask her the old fashion way. This will definitely make her feel special.
